Immersed in matter
a stone bathroom

There are spaces created by adding and others by removing.
In this small project, the volumes are carved through subtraction, excavating the stone: light Rapolano travertine.
Everything is matter. The sinks are carved into the stone, the walls are blocks of stone.

The matter is the same, the surfaces change: the polished stone is characterized by veins and clouds, the vibrant stone is worked and split with a chisel.

A few wooden accents conceal the storage spaces.
A line, a hidden slit, a play of light, shadow and brass.
